Relief from persistent problems with toenail removal surgery
Even when a problem seems recurring or too painful to manage - there is a solution. Toenail removal surgery, while treated as a "last resort" option, can provide permanent and often relatively quick relief from persistent or painful problems.
While it seems like a big undertaking, in reality, it is a very minor procedure. A local anaesthetic will be used to completely numb the area to keep you comfortable, while the entire removal is completed in less than 15 minutes in most cases. A large dressing is applied to keep the area protected while it goes through the most sensitive stages of healing. However, this can often be removed after a few days.
It is recommended that a friend or family member brings you and takes you home after nail surgery as the administration of a local anaesthetic in your toe does redeem you unfit to drive and may affect your insurance.

What is an Ingrown Toenail?
Onychocryptosis (ingrown toenail) is a common form of nail disease. It is often a painful condition where the nail grows so that it cuts into one or both sides of the nail bed. Ingrown nails occur most commonly in the big toe.
