What is an MSK Podiatry Appointment

At Rosie Feet Podiatry, our MSK (Musculoskeletal) appointments focus on diagnosing and treating pain or injury affecting the muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments of the feet and lower limbs.

Whether you’re experiencing heel pain, ankle discomfort, or ongoing sports injuries, our experienced podiatrists provide evidence-based assessment and treatment to help you move comfortably and confidently again.

What to expect

Your MSK podiatry assessment is detailed, personalised, and designed to find the root cause of your discomfort.

During your session, we will:

  • Discuss your symptoms and medical history

  • Provide a tailored treatment plan, which may include:

    • Stretching and strengthening exercises

    • Custom orthotic or insole prescription

    • Taping or strapping techniques

    • Footwear advice

    • Shockwave

    • Acupuncture

    • MLS Laser Therapy

    • Referral for imaging (X-ray, ultrasound, MRI) if required

    • Inhouse ultrasound imaging on a separate appointment basis
  • Some treatment plans may recommend more than one session to ensure optimal recovery and long-term results. Your podiatrist will discuss this with you and tailor the frequency of your appointments to your individual needs.

  • Do I need a referral?

    No, you can book directly with us — no GP referral is needed.

  • What should I bring?

    Any previous imaging, orthotics, or footwear you regularly wear.

  • What should I wear?

    Please wear comfortable clothing that allows us to see your legs and feet easily. Such as shorts or baggy trousers. 

  • Will I get orthotics on the day?

    If required, we can often provide temporary insoles during your appointment and arrange custom orthotics after your assessment.
