Expert Gait Analysis
Gait refers to how you walk or run. Its perfectly normal for the gait pattern between different people to vary slightly, depending on how all your joints, tendons, and muscles interact as your body completes each complex movement. After all, we're all unique!
Why would I need a Gait Analysis?
While variations between how different people move is perfectly normal, pain is not. Gait analysis can help identify the route cause of pain, and inform a treatment plan on how best to correct any imbalances or over corrections.
Its not unusual for gait to change with age, or after injury, so being aware of how your body moves can help both your practitioner and yourself make a more informed decision on what footwear or supporting tools may be right for you.
What should I expect from an appointment?
Our gait analysis appointments typically last somewhere between 60-90 mins. There are many steps to the assesment - as well as analysing how you walk and move, your practitioner will also run you through tests to assess muscle strength and flexibility as required.
